Cannes, Paris and Marseilles in the top 5 cities least “cool” in the world
According to a ranking by an American magazine, Cannes is a “Las Vegas European” and in Paris, “no one will come to your aid.”
If Americans love France however, they have a severe judgment about the hexagonal cities they visit . This is what we learned in a ranking by the magazine Conde Nast Traveler and founded by FranceTVinfo.
The magazine conducted a survey on cities less “friendly” or “cool” in the world. Readers placed three French cities in the top 5: Cannes, in second place, just behind Johannesburg, South Africa and Russia before Moscow and Paris and Marseille in fourth and fifth places respectively.
1. Cannes, “Las Vegas européen”
For American readers, Cannes is “the appointment of glamor on the French Riviera with its film festival” estiments but the city does not keep its promises, the magazine writes. She is described as “anecdotal” and “Las Vegas European”.
2. Paris, “no one will come to your aid”
Paris, “fabulous, romantic,” has a nice picture for the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. The only problem, “Be sure to bring a good map of the city because no one will come to your aid.”
3. Marseille and “pickpockets”
Marseille has been criticized for its “too many unsavory areas.” Readers of Condé Nast complain of a “threatening atmosphere for tourists” and “pickpockets”. Just that.
