Casting Miss Ghana France 2012 Strasbourg, 17th June 2011

The summer 2011 was very nice and 25th December 2010 was a memorable day for our community.

The queen mother of the Krobos in France, Ohemaa Edna was celebrating her birthday and the then very unpopular Gold Coast Events lead by Lydia Osei Kwasi a GiF youth had also chosen that same day for the election of Miss Ghana France 2011 which was the first time the Ghanaian youth in France had taken such a National event on their own shoulders.

Both events went on very well but one realy marked our community in depth, especially the youth. A Miss Ghana France 2011 has been chosen and the date for the next election announced.

We spent the rest of Christmas and new year responding to questions like, When is the next casting? When are you coming to our region, My mother is Ghanaian and father from Togo, am I qualified? etc..
A beautiful summer 2011 is in, membership of Gold Coast Events has risen and the members have decided to go and pick the girls from some selected regions in France.

Strasbourg, the capital and principal city of the Alsace region in north eastern France which is the official seat of the European Parliament was one of the first cities mentioned in our numerous meetings. Why? 1. Because many Ghanaians who found France as a country where illegal immigrants are treated much more better, had settled there from neighboring country Germany. 2. The Ghanaian Churches which all started in France had their branches there . 3. radio Livin which is now our leading radio station on the net had started and the community was following. 5. Facebook was there and it had by then helped the youth to build an incredible network among themselves.

Social woman, Aline Adu, Mr. and Mrs. Prince Akoto and myself arrived in Strasbourg. We were welcomed by Isaac Kwakye CEO of Radio Livin and his entourage. Everything was ready for the casting to start. Will all the five girls make it to Paris?

The girls started coming. As usual, they walked into the space created for them, pass infront of the judges, stand and introduce themselves. I had the camera in hand and followed every step and make sure I get the best shots for the teaser we have planned for the internet. When the camera captured her I stopped looking into the lcd screen and looked at her with the naked eye.

She was equally beautiful as the other girls but hers was not the usual Ghanaian one. With the steps of a shy young lady she stood infront of the judges and did the introduction with the mouth hard to open and close. Very reserved, calm, a lady of her word and follows through with her commitments, she demonstrates respect, restraint, and personal responsibility in her appearance, behavior, and communication.

Four girls were picked and dates given for repeatition.

From the day I saw her till today I have never heard any bad comments about her. She really deserves the joy in which she finds herself today. When I heard she was going to get married I quickly rushed to go look for this lucky guy. To be be frank I was again happy to find out who this young man was. A very handsome Ghanaian in France who is also respectful and takes his work with no joke.

On behalf of Gold Coast Events and GhanaInFrance.com I wish you Leticia Boateng a very successful marriage with lots of beautiful children.
