Johanna Odonkor Svanikier and husband join Ghanaians in Strasbourg to bid farewell to Aminou on the 12th August 2015 at the Eglise Protestante de Cronenbourg-Cité. The coffin containing the body will arrive in Ghana on Thursday night where his family are ready to transport it to Aflao where he will be buried on Saturday 15th August 2015.

The university where he studied paid for the cost of transporting the body to Ghana. The Ghana Embassy and the Ghanaian Community in Strasbourg raised 4000€ to be shared amongst his wife, two children and his parents.

Pastor Joejo Dadzie founder of Christ Reformed Evangelical Church conducted all the arrangements concerning the repatriation of the body to Ghana, the fund raising, the memorial service in Strasbourg and how the money raised will be distributed to the family back home.

Caesar Aminou was a Ghanaian student preparing his masters digree drowned in Lac du Baggersee,  Strasbourg the capital and principal city of the Alsace region in north eastern part of France and located close to the border with Germany.  Caesar Aminou, who hails from the border town of Aflao in the Volta region of Ghana, died on July 26 2015. He was reading Didatics of French and was partying on a friend’s birthday with other friends near the lake, but decided to go swimming and met his untimely death.
