Accurate measurement is required in many areas of modern society with high regards for health and safety. The temperature of incubators in hospitals, the purity of glasses, the dossage of drugs given to patients and the treatment of high blood pressure, all require accurate measurement.
It is in this light that the European Union funded Trade Related Assistance and Quality Enabling Programme (TRAQUE) has equipped the metrology department at the Ghana Standards Authority with state-of-the-art equipment worth over EUR 500,000 to improve calibration in the country.
