The Parliament of Ghana yesterday lost a member who represents the Abuakwa North Constituency.

The late Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu named after Dr. J. B. Danquah was stabbed severally in his home leading to his death.

It is yet to be determined whether his attackers were armed robbers or contract killers as police have started their investigations. Meanwhile the Ghana Police Service have arrested five persons in relation to his murder.

The Accra Regional Police Command PRO ASP, Mrs. Afia Tenge said  that 5 persons including a security guard have been picked up for questioning and to assist the police in their investigations. Investigations by journalist has revealed that among the arrested are 2 women and 3 men.

According to reports, the MP was stabbed to death after some assailants went straight to his bedroom. They first scaled the wall by using a ladder to enter the home and after struggling with him for a few minutes, they overpowered and stabbed him.

Members of parliament are paying glowing tributes to their colleague who is a chartered Accountant by profession. The leadership of the New Patriotic Party to which he  belong have visited his home in Shiashi near Legon to sympathise with his family.

The late J. B. a former deputy Women and Children’s Affairs minister under the John Agyekum Kufuor administration left behind a wife and two children.
