3rd June 2015 was one of the days Ghanaians worldwide were reminded by rain floods that, our capital city Accra the gateway to Ghana for most diasporans has become a death trap. We all remember the innocent lives that got lost through flood and fire unpredictably that day. The sad part of it is that, 3rd June 2016, we are celebrating the anniversary of this sad national blow without being able to say confidently that this death trap has been seen as a priority by government and eradicated or under control.

Yes, It happened again in less a catastrophic form less than one month ago. The Ghanaian Community in France Council (GHACIF) in Partnership with the GDF Ghana Diaspora Fund at a Ghana’s 55th Republic Day Celebration and Memorial Service for the victims, last 01/07/2015 at La Briche near Paris, raised a widow’s might (monies) for the 3/6/2015 Accra Floods and Fire Victims. The fund was officially handed to the National Disaster Management Organisation of Ghana which was charged to identify living victims and families of dead victims for distribution through their expertise to them. The fund was sent through the Diaspora Office of the Ghana Embassy in France.
send-articles-to-gifThat was the second time GHACIF had come to the rescue of flood victims in Ghana. The last one was another 2000 euros for Northern Ghana flood victims. GHACIF has sponsored several needy people in GHANA in diverse situations and it continues. GHACIF is a filiation of OGHA, the Organisation of Ghanaians Abroad. We do acknowledge the good works of the Ghana government yet, the Organisation of Ghanaians Abroad (OGHA) wish to advise government to put the redemption of this situation on top of all priorities.
As done annually, the Ghanaian Community in France Council(Ghacif) and the Federation of Ghanaian Associations in France(FEDGHAF) wish to invite community leaders and the general public to celebrate Ghana’s 56th Republic day in France. Several of Our outstanding Youth, Our Musicians,Traditional Leaders, Pastors, Associations and Outstanding Ghanaians in France shall receive honors and appreciation. Date: Friday 1st July 2016 Time: 18h30-23h00 Venue 71-73 rue de la Briche 93200 Saint-Denis. What we shall say loud is that, Accra is the head of the body Ghana. If a head is problematic, the rest of the body is in trouble. Government should address this problem which tarnishes the potentials of our country and our image.
