Today 13/04/2013, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, France Branch has been officially inaugurated at Saint-Denis La Briche near Paris. Present at the occasion were; Ghanafohemaa Ajoa Kour, Oyokohene Nana Attah, Brofoyeduru hemaa Nana Yaa Agyemang, Mfantsefohene Nana Ato Smith and several other Ghanaian Community Traditional leaders.

The inauguration was chaired by Mr. Koffi Sertodji President of FEDGHAF, the Federation of Ghanaian Associations in France. He was accompanied by his Vice Mr. Kouassi Appiah, P.R.O. Kwabena Opoku and several other executive members of the federation. In a short address, he urged Ghanaians in France to keep uniting under FEDGHAF in order to create a vital force behind our community.

The special guest of the occasion was Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, Ghana’s Minister of Education. She was accompanied by H.E. Genevieve Tsegah Ghana’s Ambassador to France. In an address, she underlined the exemplary of Ghanaians wherever they found themselves. She commended the leaders of the Church for all the sacrifices they have made to bring the congregation this far.

Ambassador Tsegah in her speech asked Ghanaians in France to keep raising high, the flag of Ghana. A Presbyterian herself, she said the event reminded her of her infant days when she used to attend morning services with her grandma. She promised to come back to attend some future church services.

Author Hon. Osei Mensah Michael, was present at the occasion, he offered copies of his book ( A Call For a Ministry of Ghanaians in Foreign Lands with Two Subsidiary Parliamentary Seats from Each Continent) to the Minister and the Ambassador.

The church clerk Mr. Francis Acheampong gave a brief history of the branch. He said the branch has now been federated to the Federation of Protestant Churches in France

Rev. Ofosu Addo, Global General Overseer  made the appeal for funds. He was the host pastor for the occasion. He said he did not take the presence of the Minister and the Ambassador for granted. He prayed for the progress of FEDGHAF. He thanked the Traditional leaders for their presence

The cathechist, Mr. Asare George was the major organizer of the event. Mr. Kwabena Opoku did the M.C. Job. The S.D.A. Church France branch, the Presby choir and singing band cheered the occasion with beautiful songs.

The Presbyterian church wish to thank all those who were present, for their generosity. The doors of the Presbyterian Church are open every Sunday to all for worship at 71-73 ave de la Briche 93200 Saint-Denis from 2pm-5pm.
