Ghanaian chic clothing and accessories maker, Hall of Peters, was among the selected few designers from the continent that showcased the rich diversity and ingenuity of designers from Africa on the runway of Paris under the auspices of African Fashion Reception.

The Africa Fashion Reception was held under the theme: “Africa is the New Inspiration of Global Fashion.” It sought to use the creative industry of fashion as a vehicle to attract global attention to Africa’s very rich and diversified dress culture which can be explored as a catalyst for the social economic growth of the continent’s garment/textile industry.

The event gathered a very exclusive French and African audience led by the Nigerian Minister of Trade and Investment who was represented by his permanent secretary, Ambassador Abdukadir Musa and the Nigerian Ambassador to France who was represented by Davidson Ikemefuna.

The event was also attended by the Ambassadors of Rwanda, Ethiopia, Cameroun & Cape Verde to France. Also in attendance was the Ethiopian Ambassador to UNESCO and representatives of African Ambassadors from over 15 countries.

Her Excellency, Ambassador Nimate Akanbi, Nigerian Ambassador to the Netherlands also graced the event.

Others guests included the Vice President of World Fashion Organization-Europe, Piercarlo Borgogeli, French politician François Durpaire and the top Italian buying group Camera Moda Buyer.

The Brands manager of Hall of Peters, William Annor Adu, said it was a tremendous experience and an opportunity to showcase Ghanaian designs to the elite of world fashion.

Peter Akosa the chief designer for Hall of Peters is one of the promising young Ghanaian designers. Some fashion critics have tipped him to be the next Kofi Ansah, a renowned Ghanaian fashion designer of blessed memory.

Hall of Peters had immense help from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ghana Tourism Authority after it was selected as the sole representative for Ghana.

Daviva, a textile wholesale and retail outlet in Ghana, provided all the beautiful fabrics that were used for the stunning outfits by Hall of Peters and gracefully showcased by the pretty ladies in heels on the runway in Paris.
