H.E. François Pujolas, Ambassador of France to Ghana, participated in the Impact Africa Summit, organized by Diplomatic Call Thursday, 7th July 2016. As a guest of honor, he inaugurated this event by congratulating the organizers for choosing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as the main theme for the summit.

In his introductory remarks he emphasized the importance of regional integration for security and development. This was particularly true when one wants to achieve a sustainable development based on an economic growth that must be inclusive and ecofriendly. This remark applies to West Africa, and therefore to Ghana being one of the leading countries in the sub-region.

He also presented to President Kufuor the leadership and governance award, and took the opportunity to recall the vision and leadership shown by the former President of the Republic of Ghana during -and after- his time in office.

In this respect he mentioned the decision taken in 2006 by President Kufuor for Ghana to join the Francophonie, namely the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). Joining la Francophonie meant Ghana being better integrated in the West African context, and thus developing cooperation between Ghana and its neighbors as well as giving the Ghanaian youth more job and career opportunities in the sub-region.
