The Ghana police has earned a lot of praise for their swift response to the murder of a Ghanaian MP.

Barely 3 days after the death of Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, the Ghana police service has arrested a young man for the crime.

A source at the Regional Police Command in Accra says the suspect whose identity has being withheld has confessed to police interrogators he stabbed the MP. Three mobile phones were found on him, two of them confirmed to belong to the slain MP.

The suspect was picked up in an operation led by by the regional police commander of Accra COP Dr. George Akuffo  Dampare. Two other persons were picked up in connection with killing.

It is reported an order has been given for the arrest of some people whose names are yet to be known.

The suspect is believed to be an ex-convict who benefited from the Justice for All Programme. He benefited from the programme after the state failed to produce evidence to convict him on an alleged criminal case.

In another vane it has been reported that a jail mate who heard him plotting a killing informed a Member of Parliament after JB Danquah’s murder was reported. The MP in turn informed  police detectives who picked him up Thursday dawn from his hideout.
