Ghana’s Ambassador to France, H.E Professor OWUSU SARPONG, invited the Executive Council of FEDGHAF as well as a delegation of community leaders to his residence on Friday 6th February 2009 for an informal cocktail during which he informed them of his departure.
Much as his departure was foreseeable following the change of government, the announcement came as a surprise as the delegation was not expecting this to come so soon.
The General Secretary, Mr. KOFFI SETODJI, on behalf of FEDGAF, conveyed to His Excellency the gratitude of members Associations for initiating the idea of a united body of all Ghanaians. The General Secretary also emphasized that the formation of the Federation of Ghanaian Associations in France could not have been possible without his fatherly counsel.
The Ambassador exhorted the Executive Council and the community leaders to ensure that unity and peace prevailed within the Ghanaian community. He thanked Ghanaians in France for the support given to him during his stay.
The Organizing Secretary on behalf of FEDGHAF presented to Prof OWUSU SARPONG a specially knitted FEDGHAF KENTE muffler. Mrs. Georgina ATTAH, on behalf of member associations presented two pieces of cloth to His Excellency and his wife.
Also present were senior members of staff from the Embassy.
